Navigating your smart TV without the convenience of voice assistance can be a frustrating experience. We understand the challenges of typing out long sentences to get the desired results. If your voice command isn't functioning as expected, worry not – Carlcare, your authorized service provider for itel and Infinix TVs, is here to guide you through resolving the issue.

Before You Start:

  1. Ensure that your remote control supports voice recognition, indicated by a microphone icon or button. For Google TV™ models, set up your TV as Google TV for voice recognition to work via the remote control.

  1. Voice Recognition Support: Check if your remote control has a microphone icon or button, indicating voice recognition support.

  1. Google TV Setup (For Google TV™ Models): Set up your TV as Google TV for voice recognition to function via the remote control.

  1. Internet Connection: Confirm that your TV is connected to the internet for seamless voice command operation.

Now, Let's Troubleshoot:

Step 1: Check Batteries

  • Remove and reinsert the remote control batteries or replace them with new ones.
  • Conduct a quick battery test with the TV off by:
  • Pressing and holding VOL down (-) button.
  • While holding, press the Microphone button.
  • The light at the top should flash; if not, replace the batteries.

Step 2: Verify Display Support

  • Confirm if your TV's specific display or setup screen supports voice recognition.

Step 3: Voice Control Settings

  • Ensure Voice control is turned on:
  • If your remote has a Quick Settings button:
  • Press the (Quick Settings) button.
  • Select Settings.
  • Navigate to Accounts and Sign In → (Login Name) → Google Assistant → Voice control → On.

Step 4: Internet Connection Check

  • Make sure your TV is connected to the internet:
  • Open the Settings screen.
  • Depending on your TV menu options:
  • Select Network & Internet → Network status → Check Connection.

OR

  • Select Network → Advanced settings → Network status → Check Connection.

Step 5: Microphone Usage

  • Speak directly into the microphone on the remote control.
  • For Google TV models:
  • Press and hold the Microphone button, then speak into the microphone.
  • For Android TV™ models:
  • Press and release the Microphone button, then speak into the microphone.

Step 6: Ensure proper pairing of your remote control with the TV for optimal functionality.

If you encounter issues with your Bluetooth® remote control or encounter problems with the Mic button/voice command function, this article guides you through the necessary steps to pair your Bluetooth® remote control and resolve the issue.

Important Notes:

Depending on your TV model, a Bluetooth remote control is supplied and pre-paired with the TV during shipment. Please note that the paired remote control provided at the time of shipment cannot be used to operate other TVs. When assessing remote control operation, utilize the TV with which the remote control was originally supplied.

In the event of replacing your voice command remote control, you must re-pair the new remote to enable voice search functionality.

After updating your TV's software, the remote may require re-pairing to restore voice search functionality.

If the battery level is too low, pairing may fail. In such cases, replace the batteries with new ones before initiating the pairing process.

Step 7: Bluetooth® Remote Issues

  • If using a Bluetooth remote control, or if the Mic button/voice command function is problematic:
  • Refer to your TV manual for specific Bluetooth pairing instructions.
  • Pair the Bluetooth remote control following the provided steps.

Step 8: Software Update

  • Ensure your remote control software is updated:
  • Open the Settings screen.
  • Depending on your TV menu options:
  • Select Remotes & Accessories → Remote control → Software update.

OR

Select Remote control or Voice Remote Control → Software update.

Follow on-screen instructions for the update.

Additional Notes:

  • Bluetooth remote controls are supplied and paired with the TV at shipment.
  • If replacing your voice command remote control, the new remote must be paired again for voice search functionality.
  • After a TV software update, the remote may need re-pairing for voice search functionality.
  • Pairing may fail if battery levels are too low; replace with new batteries before attempting to pair.
